Cookie policy
Last updated: 14 June 2026
This policy explains how OMPT Trainer (ompt-learning.com) and the trainer application (app.ompt-learning.com) use cookies and similar storage. We keep this to a minimum: by default we set only strictly necessary cookies, and the single optional cookie (a Google Ads conversion-measurement cookie) is set only if you accept it in our banner. We do not track you across other websites.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website can store in your browser. "Similar technologies" include your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage, which work in a comparable way. Some are strictly necessary for the site to function; others are optional and only set with your consent.
Cookies and storage we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sid |
Strictly necessary (session cookie) | Keeps you signed in to the trainer. It is an httpOnly cookie, so it cannot be read by JavaScript, and it is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. | Until you sign out or the session expires |
ompt-consent |
Strictly necessary (localStorage) | Remembers your cookie-banner choice so we do not ask you again on every visit. | Until you clear your browser storage |
| Practice progress | Strictly necessary (sessionStorage) | Holds your answers during a practice test so a page reload does not lose them. It never leaves your device. | Cleared when you close the tab |
| Google Ads conversion measurement | Optional (advertising — measurement); set only with your consent | Measures that a click on one of our advertisements led to a sign-up or a purchase. Set only if you choose Accept in the banner; without consent it is not set. | Up to the period set by Google for conversion measurement |
Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk) |
Optional (analytics — session replays & heatmaps); set only with your consent | If enabled, records anonymised usage (clicks, scrolls, session replays and heatmaps) to help us improve the site. Loaded only after you choose Accept in the banner; data is processed by Microsoft. | _clck: up to 12 months · _clsk: 1 day |
By default we use only strictly necessary cookies — no social-media tracking pixels and no data brokers. The optional cookies are a Google Ads conversion-measurement cookie and Microsoft Clarity (session replays & heatmaps), both set only after you accept in the banner. For audience measurement we run a self-hosted Umami instance (hosted in the EU) that is cookie-free: it counts anonymous, aggregated visits and events without storing cookies or personal data, and without tracking you across other websites. Because it sets no cookies, it requires no consent.
Your consent
Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent — without them the Service cannot work. The optional Google Ads conversion-measurement cookie is set only if you choose Accept in the banner; if you choose Decline, it is not set and only the strictly necessary cookies remain.
How to refuse or remove cookies
- In our banner: click Decline to keep only essential cookies. To change your mind at any time, open Cookie settings — this reopens the banner and, if you had accepted, withdraws consent and clears the optional Google Ads and Microsoft Clarity cookies.
- In your browser: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking the strictly necessary
sidcookie will prevent you from staying signed in to the trainer. - Do Not Track: we do not run cross-site tracking. The only advertising-related cookie is the optional Google Ads conversion-measurement cookie, which you control through the banner (choose Decline to keep it off).
