OMPT-D rewards multi-step work, not quick recall. Practise full open-ended problems with worked solutions, typing exact forms a CAS will accept — simplified radicals, exact constants, correct signs.
Run full-length, timed sessions with only the on-screen scientific calculator. When you're comfortably above 75% on realistic practice, you're in range for every published cutoff — then book the paid exam once.

Just 21 questions in 180 minutes — roughly 8–9 minutes each. The questions are open-ended and multi-step, so there are fewer of them but each is long. The syllabus lists 242 topics with ~120 hours of prep recommended (less if your calculus is already strong).
The algebra prerequisites — numbers, algebra, linear formulas & equations, systems of linear equations — plus the full calculus track: quadratics, functions, exponentials & logarithms, differentiation, trigonometry, geometry and integration. The prerequisites are examined, not assumed. It's built around the Dutch Wiskunde B level — the most maths-intensive OMPT variant, with no statistics section.
Advanced STEM applicants — maths, physics, computer science, chemistry, AI and data science. Programmes like Radboud's Mathematics/Physics/Computing Science/Chemistry/AI and Maastricht's Data Science & AI / Computer Science typically ask for it. Not your own. A scientific digital calculator is provided in the platform — the OMPT-D gets the scientific one, not the basic one. The long calculus questions are still designed to be solved by hand, with the calculator only for final arithmetic. Train that way.
It depends on your university and programme. Published cutoffs range from ~55% (e.g. Radboud) up to ~75% (e.g. Utrecht). There's no single passing score — confirm yours on the programme's admission page.
One official OMPT-D attempt costs €270 (higher than the €240 for most other variants). Most programmes allow 2 attempts; Utrecht allows up to 3, and Erasmus School of Economics allows only 1. Each attempt is bought separately and results take up to 8 working days — strong reasons to prepare thoroughly before booking.
